The University of Ghana has officially inaugurated a modern access control system at its Convocation Group of Buildings, aimed at bolstering security around key administrative areas. The initiative, launched by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo and Registrar Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah, is designed to regulate access, monitor movement, and reduce unauthorized entry, addressing rising safety concerns in higher education institutions across the country.
In addition to the access control system, the officials unveiled refurbished Walls of Honour, which recognize distinguished service to the university by featuring the names of past leaders and award recipients. This refurbishment aligns with the university's commitment to modernizing its facilities while preserving its traditions and values, ensuring it remains competitive in the higher education sector. The overall strategy reflects the university's proactive approach to enhancing safety for both staff and visitors, reinforcing its dedication to maintaining a secure learning environment.
