The Nkwanta South Police Command in the Oti Region has arrested a 37-year-old fetish priest, Osman Imoro, in connection with the disappearance and alleged murder of contractor Daniel Bijadom. The arrest, which occurred on October 15, 2026, marks a significant development in a case that has remained unresolved for three years. Bijadom, who was 35 years old at the time he vanished, was first reported missing on October 16, 2023.
Investigations into the disappearance led authorities to a septic pit in Tuobodom, where parts of the victim's remains were discovered buried. The discovery of the remains provided critical evidence linking the fetish priest to the contractor's death. Police officials noted that the suspect was apprehended with the assistance of community surveillance efforts, demonstrating the effectiveness of local cooperation with law enforcement in tracking down suspects in the region.
Osman Imoro remains in police custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the alleged killing. The Nkwanta South Police have indicated that further inquiries will be conducted to solidify the case before any formal legal action is taken. This breakthrough has brought some closure to a case that had long troubled the local community since the contractor’s disappearance in late 2023.
