Ghana Education Service Schedules 2026 BECE School Selection for July 20 to August 7

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the timeline for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) school selection process, a critical phase for students transitioning to second-cycle institutions. According to a circular issued by the service, candidates awaiting their results will be able to select their preferred Senior High Schools (SHSs) and technical institutions between July 20 and August 7, 2026. This exercise is a fundamental component of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), designed to automate and streamline the enrollment of qualified candidates into educational institutions nationwide.

To ensure the process is conducted with the highest degree of accuracy and transparency, the GES has also scheduled a comprehensive training program for education officials. From July 15 to July 28, 2026, Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education will undergo training on the 2026 School Selection Guidelines.
