DStv Price Increases Confirmed as New Packages Gain Popularity in Ghana

The stakeholder committee, led by the Minister for Communications, has officially confirmed that the recent price hikes for DStv subscriptions—33% and 50%—will remain in effect as of October 1, 2025. This decision comes in light of a positive public response to the enhanced DStv packages, which have reportedly resulted in an increase in subscriptions. The committee is also taking proactive measures to address illegal broadcasting activities, including internet streaming piracy, which poses risks to revenue and consumer safety. Among the enhancements to the DStv offerings are automatic upgrades for subscribers across various tiers and a notable subsidy on Zapper decoders for new customers. These initiatives aim to improve service quality while ensuring compliance with broadcasting regulations.
