A fire broke out at the Anwona Market near Afful Nkwanta in the Kumasi Metropolis on Monday evening, causing extensive damage to several shops. The incident occurred just 24 hours after a separate fire affected mechanic shops at Sofoline. The blaze, which began around 10 p.m., is believed to have originated in a section of the footwear factory where flammable materials are stored. The Ghana National Fire Service responded promptly and was on-site working to extinguish the flames.
