IPRA Recognizes Global Communication Excellence with 2026 Golden World Awards Winners
The International Public Relations Association (IPRA) has officially unveiled the 95 winners of the 2026 Golden World Awards (GWA), marking a significant milestone in global communication excellence. This year’s accolades recognize outstanding public relations campaigns from across the globe, including notable projects originating from Ghana that emphasize the power of storytelling in the African context. These awards underscore the evolving role of PR professionals in navigating a complex global landscape characterized by technological shifts and socio-political challenges. The selection process, conducted by an esteemed international panel of judges in London, highlighted a diverse array of themes that reflect the current state of global affairs. Campaigns this year were particularly noted for their sophisticated engagement with modern challenges, such as the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and the management of sensitive communications during periods of international conflict. IPRA Secretary-General, Philip Sheppard, noted that the competition was remarkably intense this year, specifically highlighting the high quality of entries in the newly established 'Courage in Communications' category, which honors professionals who demonstrate resilience and integrity in their outreach efforts. The celebration of these global achievements will culminate at the annual Golden World Awards gala, scheduled to take place in Athens, Greece, on September 25. While the 95 category winners have been announced, the ultimate honors—the prestigious Grand Prix and the Global Contribution Award—remain under wraps until the evening of the ceremony. These top awards will recognize the most impactful campaign overall and the project that best aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. As the industry prepares for the Athens event, the recognition of Ghanaian storytelling on this global stage highlights the increasing influence of West African creative excellence in the international media landscape.
