
The Upper East Regional Police Command has apprehended six individuals in connection with the alleged murder of Akolbila Blessing, a 26-year-old tricycle rider in Dulugu-Zuarungu. The arrests follow a detailed investigation into a violent altercation that took place on August 27, 2026, which resulted in the young man's death. The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting authorities with their ongoing inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
According to reports from the regional command, the fatal conflict arose from a dispute regarding tricycle sales and outstanding financial obligations. It is alleged that the suspects attacked Akolbila Blessing after he failed to meet specific sales targets or make required payments to the tricycle's owner, identified as Mpika. During the confrontation, the victim was severely assaulted and was later discovered in an unconscious state by bystanders. Although he was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention, he was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival.
