
The Bassare Youth Association (BAYA) has successfully concluded its 2026 National Congress in Kpandai, resulting in the election of a new executive team to lead the organization for a two-year term. Mr. Toni JC Bakawu emerged as the newly elected National President, securing 211 votes in a competitive race against Dr. Enock Mani, who received 152 votes. The congress brought together delegates from various communities to deliberate on the future of the association and the development of Bassare youth across Ghana.
In addition to the presidency, several other key leadership positions were filled during the congress. Mr. Romeo Jagri was elected as the Vice President, while Mr. Seth Nyantakyi Balaalah assumed the role of General Secretary after running unopposed. These elections were characterized by a spirit of democratic engagement, with the association seeking to refresh its leadership to better address the evolving needs of its members and strengthen its various chapters nationwide.
The newly elected national executives have committed themselves to a mandate centered on unity, the preservation of cultural identity, and the enhancement of youth welfare.
