The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, accompanied by the National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, recently concluded a landmark Apostolic Visit to the Brong Ahafo Region “C.” The historic gathering, held at the Central Assembly of God in Mim, brought together a diverse group of church leadership, including active and retired ministers, their spouses, and the widows of deceased pastors. This visit serves as a cornerstone of the church’s ongoing transformation agenda, which aims to revitalize spiritual life and administrative structures throughout the country.
Central to the visit was a rigorous three-and-a-half-hour prayer session led by Rev. Wengam, which focused on themes of thanksgiving, repentance, and intercession for revival. Beyond spiritual exercises, the General Superintendent addressed the domestic foundations of church leadership, emphasizing the necessity of strong, exemplary marriages. He encouraged ministerial couples to renew their vows and serve as moral role models within their communities. To further strengthen the bond within the church family, Lady Wengam distributed gifts to the pastors and their spouses, highlighting the importance of unity and mutual support.
In addition to spiritual and social engagements, the visit included a critical inspection of the ongoing regional office building project. Rev. Wengam urged the regional council to prioritize the facility's completion by 2028, underscoring the importance of modern infrastructure in supporting the church's growth and administrative efficiency. The regional council, in turn, recognized the Wengams’ dedicated service and leadership by presenting them with a ram as a token of appreciation.
Looking toward the future, the General Superintendent highlighted the significance of the upcoming General Council meeting and the World Congress slated to take place in Accra. He called for collective preparation and participation in these global events, which are expected to further the church's mission. The Apostolic Visit concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among the regional clergy, aligning local efforts with the national vision of the Assemblies of God, Ghana.
