On January 1, 2025, the Sandema Hospital in the Builsa North Municipality celebrated the New Year with the successful delivery of preterm twins. The twins, born at 34 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy, consist of a male and a female, each weighing 2.2 kg. Dr. Edwin Saanwie, the Medical Superintendent, confirmed that both the mother and the twins are stable following the delivery. In addition to the twins, Dr. Saanwie also performed an emergency Caesarean Section later that day, resulting in the birth of another healthy female baby, who weighed 3.1 kg. He highlighted the significance of antenatal care and cautioned against self-medication during pregnancy. The mother expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the hospital staff for their exceptional support during this momentous occasion.
