Police Investigate Suspicious Death of Woman at Partner's Residence in Dzodze

Kasoa Murder Investigation: Family Demands Justice for 28-Year-Old Monica Mawuse Bosso

Residents of Akweley Peace Town in Kasoa were thrown into a state of shock on the morning of October 4, 2026, following the discovery of the body of 28-year-old Monica Mawuse Bosso. The young woman was found dead, hanging from a mango tree in the neighborhood. While the initial scene suggested a possible suicide, the circumstances surrounding her death have led both residents and investigators to suspect foul play, with the family now urgently calling for a thorough and swift police investigation to uncover the truth. The discovery followed a night of distress for local residents, some of whom reported hearing chilling screams coming from the area around midnight. When the body was found at dawn, Ms. Bosso was reportedly dressed only in a red T-shirt. A headgear was found wrapped around her neck, and the presence of ripped clothing nearby has fueled suspicions that the death was staged to look like a suicide after a violent encounter. The body has since been transported to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Preliminary police investigations have identified several troubling indicators of a struggle. Authorities are currently exploring the possibility of sexual assault, with some reports suggesting a potential gang rape occurred before the victim was killed. Forensic samples have been collected from the scene to aid in the inquiry. Furthermore, investigators are tracking a suspicious withdrawal made from the victim's Mobile Money (MoMo) account, which investigators believe could provide a critical lead in identifying those responsible for the crime. In the wake of the tragedy, the bereaved family and local leaders are demanding justice and improved public safety. Monica’s family has appealed to the police to leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of the perpetrators. Community leaders in Akweley Peace Town have also used the occasion to call for increased security patrols and better lighting in the area to deter future crimes. As the police continue their inquiries, the incident has renewed concerns about the safety of women and the rising crime rate in the Kasoa municipality.
