On January 10, 2026, the Nsawam District Police Command successfully arrested five suspects involved in the kidnapping of two men traveling from Accra to Anyinam. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of GH¢400,000, with an initial deposit of GH¢5,000 requested during negotiations. Following intelligence-led operations, police tracked the suspects to a location near the Suhum Roundabout, where they were apprehended. The victims, identified as Seidu Sambiane, 28, and Ibrahim Alhassan, 42, were rescued unharmed. Authorities reported that the suspects were found in possession of cash, forged currency notes, a foreign pistol, and other items linked to the crime. The suspects are currently in custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
