Head Coach Nana Joe Adarkwa has finalized his 21-player squad for the upcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Morocco in 2026. This announcement marks a critical phase in the team’s preparations as they aim to establish a strong presence on the international stage. The squad selection reflects a strategic mix of experienced youth internationals and promising newcomers, designed to balance stability with fresh energy. A standout feature of the roster is the return of forward Jessica Appiah Asamoah, who has been cleared for action after recovering from a recent injury. Her inclusion is expected to significantly strengthen the team’s offensive capabilities. In a move highlighting the commitment to youth development, Coach Adarkwa has also promoted three standout players from the U15 national team: Christiana Ashiaku, Mavis Koah, and Belinda Kpentey, all of whom have transitioned to the U17 level. The technical team has structured the squad to ensure depth across all positions. The goalkeeping trio includes Belinda Maku Aklie, Rahima A. Napari, and Josephine Nyanufule. The defensive line is composed of Matilda A. B. Amoah, Hajara Adam, Latifa Musah, Mavis Koah, Rafia Osman, Juliana Gyekyewaa, and Seraphina E. Esse. In the midfield, the coach has opted for Benedicta D. Nkietah, Seidatu Wahab, Zeinab Shani, and Sekinatu Amadu, alongside the newly promoted Ashiaku and Kpentey. The attacking force will be led by Priscilla Mensah, Linda Achiaa, Cynthia Obinsrewuo, and Gloria A. Adomako, complementing the return of Jessica Appiah Asamoah. As the Black Maidens enter the final stages of their training camp, the focus remains on tactical cohesion and physical conditioning. The team is determined to carry the nation’s hopes into the tournament, seeking to build on Ghana’s storied legacy in women’s youth football.
