Lashibi Mobile Money Vendor Shoots Armed Robber Dead to Recover Stolen GH¢140,000

A dramatic shootout in Lashibi, Greater Accra, has resulted in the death of an armed robber and the recovery of GH¢140,000 after a mobile money vendor fought back against his attackers. The incident occurred on July 3, 2026, when two suspects on a motorbike targeted the vendor in a brazen daylight assault. In the ensuing exchange, one of the robbers was fatally wounded while the second suspect managed to flee the scene on the motorbike. Upon searching the deceased suspect, police officers discovered an AK-47 rifle, several rounds of ammunition, additional cash, and an identification card. The full amount of GH¢140,000 stolen during the initial attack was also recovered at the scene. Authorities have since launched a comprehensive investigation into the robbery and are actively pursuing the accomplice who escaped.
