Ghanaian broadcaster Kwabena Yeboah, popularly known as Odiifour, has revealed that he worked for Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM for approximately four years without receiving a regular salary. The media personality shared these details during a candid interview on The Delay Show, where he reflected on the significant professional and personal challenges he encountered while establishing his career at the station.
Yeboah disclosed that throughout his tenure, which lasted between three and four years, he did not receive the financial compensation typically expected for his role. He credited fellow broadcaster Auntie Naa for providing the essential support that allowed him to continue his work. According to Odiifour, Auntie Naa identified his potential early in their acquaintance and stepped in to offer personal financial assistance, effectively helping him to navigate a difficult period and rebuild his livelihood from the ground up.
The allegations have brought renewed attention to the broader issue of compensation and job security within the Ghanaian media industry. While Yeboah focused on his gratitude toward Auntie Naa for her mentorship and generosity, the narrative highlights the precarious nature of employment for some practitioners in the sector. At the time of reporting, management at Oyerepa FM had not provided a public statement regarding Yeboah's claims of unpaid wages during his time with the organization.
