Yekaterinburg has officially begun welcoming thousands of participants for the International Youth Festival, a global gathering designed to foster connection and leadership among the world's youth. Grigory Gurov, the head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, confirmed that representatives from 47 countries have already arrived in the city, marking the start of an event that will eventually host young leaders from a staggering 191 nations. Under the inspirational theme "Follow Your Dream," the festival aims to create a platform for dialogue and cultural exchange on an unprecedented scale.
The festival is set to host approximately 10,000 young leaders, showcasing a broad demographic that includes a dedicated cohort of 1,000 teenagers aged between 14 and 17. Among the early arrivals are delegations from a diverse array of countries, including Australia, Brazil, France, and the United States, highlighting the event's global reach despite current geopolitical climates. Organizers have placed a significant emphasis on hospitality, greeting international guests with the traditional Russian offering of bread and salt, along with flowers, as they settle into their accommodations.
A unique feature of this year’s festival is the planned celebration of the 1,500 participants whose birthdays fall during the event period, adding a personal touch to the massive international summit. As the proceedings officially kick off this September, the focus remains on the "Follow Your Dream" motif, encouraging the next generation of global citizens to pursue their ambitions through collaboration. With nearly 200 countries represented, the Yekaterinburg gathering stands as a significant moment for international youth diplomacy and cultural integration.
