The Ghana Police Service has successfully dismantled a human trafficking syndicate in Ho, Volta Region, arresting seven suspects and rescuing 48 victims during operations conducted on January 8 and 10, 2026. The arrested individuals, identified as Emmanuel Asiamah, Frimpong Jerry, Paul Mensah, Bismark Perry, Vida Gefah, Ebenezer Kwabena Owusu, and Prince Kaku, allegedly deceived their victims—primarily young adults and students—with false promises of overseas travel.
Investigations revealed that the victims were held under coercive conditions, and police recovered substantial evidence linking the suspects to fraudulent activities, including receipts for visa payments. The suspects are currently in custody as authorities continue their investigations, seeking to locate the victims' families and identify any additional accomplices involved in this criminal operation. The police have reiterated their commitment to combating organized crime and protecting citizens from human trafficking.
