The Tema Regional Police Command has successfully apprehended six suspects allegedly involved in a string of high-value warehouse robberies across the Tema and Kpone industrial areas. These operations, conducted between May and June 2026, targeted essential agricultural and food supplies, resulting in the theft of goods valued at hundreds of thousands of Ghana Cedis. The arrests followed intensive, intelligence-led investigations into two major incidents that had caused significant concern within the local business community.
According to police reports, the first robbery took place on May 25, 2026, where the criminal gang managed to steal 751 bags of organic fertilizer. The group struck again on June 14, 2026, in a second raid where armed men seized approximately 2,000 bags of Aaba Rice along with various other food products. The suspects identified and taken into custody are Akala Kudus, Shaibu Dauda, Abdul Rahman Moro, Giya Hudu, Razak Seidu, and Francis Ayinsabga. During the operation, the police successfully recovered a portion of the stolen goods, which will serve as critical evidence in the upcoming legal proceedings.
The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that the suspects are currently being held in custody as investigations continue to determine if they are linked to other unresolved crimes in the region. This successful bust highlights the effectiveness of recent intelligence-gathering strategies implemented to protect industrial hubs. In light of these events, authorities have issued a strong advisory to warehouse operators and business owners to enhance their internal security measures, including the installation of modern surveillance systems and the rigorous vetting of security personnel. The public is also encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious bulk sales of fertilizers or rice to the authorities.
