The Ghana Police Service has successfully apprehended three individuals linked to a taxi-based phone and valuables-snatching syndicate. The suspects, identified as Sasu Lawrence (Agbe), Richard Osei, and Charles Kofi Nti (Survivor), were arrested on January 12, 2026, during intelligence-led operations. This criminal group operates primarily in the early morning hours, posing as taxi drivers and targeting mainly female passengers. Their modus operandi involves locking the doors of the taxi to prevent victims from escaping while one member of the group pretends to assist the victim, allowing the others to steal valuables such as phones and wallets. The suspects are currently in custody, and police investigations are ongoing to identify additional individuals involved in the trafficking of the stolen items.
