Ghana Police Apprehend Convicted Fraudster Eric Afoakwa After Seven-Year Manhunt

The Ghana Police Service has successfully apprehended Eric Afoakwa, a notorious convicted fraudster popularly known as 'Chad,' who had been a fugitive from justice for seven years. Afoakwa was intercepted by security forces while attempting to flee the country, marking the end of a long-standing manhunt. His arrest brings to a close a high-profile case that dates back to 2019, when he was sentenced in absentia for a series of serious financial crimes including money laundering.

The legal troubles for Afoakwa began years ago, culminating in a conviction by the court for his involvement in various fraudulent activities. In addition to his eight-year prison sentence, the court had ordered him to make a significant financial restitution of $132,660.
