The Ghana Police Service has arrested two additional suspects linked to the November 2, 2024, robbery of a jewellery shop in Adabraka, Accra. The suspects, identified as Hamza Agerego, also known as Nene Bawku, and Alhassan Elliasu, referred to as Arab Man, were apprehended during a police operation in Ashaiman on January 7, 2026. The arrests followed extensive surveillance and investigations into the incident, which involved armed men attacking a man in a parked car, resulting in public panic and serious injuries to one individual. During the operation, police recovered firearms, including two pump-action guns and ammunition. Both suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue, and they will face legal action. The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohunu, reiterated the commitment of the police to ensuring justice and public safety, urging community cooperation in crime prevention efforts.
