Ganyo, who had been with the Commission since 2021, was fatally wounded in the chest during a confrontation with a suspected poacher near Zitoe Camp. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Commission has reported the incident to the Ghana Police, which is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Ganyo, born on March 15, 1997, was recognized for his commitment to wildlife law enforcement. The Forestry Commission extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and colleagues during this difficult time as they seek justice for his untimely death.
