The 2015 year group of Accra Academy, popularly known as Bleoo ’15, has officially launched the "Adopt a Classroom" project to modernize and improve the school's physical infrastructure. Announced during the formal inauguration ceremony of the year group, the initiative represents a concerted effort by the alumni to give back to their alma mater. The project focuses on transforming existing classrooms into state-of-the-art learning environments that can better support the academic needs of the current student population.
Manuel Koranteng, the President of Bleoo ’15, highlighted the importance of collective action during the launch event. He explained that the "Adopt a Classroom" initiative seeks to bridge the infrastructure gap by mobilizing financial and technical support from both individual year group members and corporate entities. By creating a platform for structured contributions, the group intends to ensure that the renovations are sustainable and meet modern educational standards, providing students with a more conducive atmosphere for study.
Beyond infrastructure, the inauguration served as a platform to establish the Bleoo ’15 Cares Fund. This social welfare initiative is designed to offer a support system for members of the 2015 cohort, providing assistance during times of need or personal hardship. Koranteng emphasized that the strength of the alumni group lies in its unity and the ability to look out for one another while simultaneously working toward the betterment of the school.
The launch of these initiatives marks a significant transition for the 2015 year group as they formalize their role within the wider Accra Academy Old Boys’ Association (AAOBA). By focusing on both institutional development and member welfare, Bleoo ’15 aims to create a lasting legacy that supports the long-term growth of Accra Academy. The group has called on other alumni and private sector stakeholders to partner with them in realizing the goals of the classroom renovation project.
