The Association of Ghana Startups (AGS), in collaboration with the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), has successfully concluded a high-level trade and investment mission to Europe. The mission was designed to bridge the gap between Ghana’s burgeoning startup ecosystem and the global market, focusing on attracting international investment, fostering strategic partnerships, and facilitating technology transfer. By positioning local entrepreneurs on the world stage, the delegation sought to secure the resources and networks necessary for Ghanaian businesses to scale internationally.
Led by NEIP Deputy CEO Joan Selassie Ahiawodor and AGS President Solomon Adjei, the delegation participated in two premier global technology events: the FEF AI for Sustainable Development Conference in France and GITEX Europe 2026 in Berlin, Germany. These platforms allowed Ghanaian innovators to showcase their solutions to a diverse audience of international counterparts, technology leaders, and venture capitalists. The mission specifically targeted advancements in critical sectors, including artificial intelligence, fintech, agritech, and healthtech, emphasizing Ghana’s readiness to adopt and lead in responsible AI and digital innovation.
AGS President Solomon Adjei highlighted the growing momentum within Ghana’s startup landscape, stressing that international collaboration is essential for sustained growth. He noted that the mission was instrumental in facilitating knowledge exchange and unlocking new funding opportunities through direct engagements with European venture capital firms and corporate innovators. The delegation also participated in policy discussions regarding startup exchange programs, aiming to create a more integrated environment for entrepreneurs operating across different jurisdictions.
Following the conclusion of this mission, the AGS has reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for policies that enhance the domestic startup ecosystem. Moving forward, the focus will remain on capacity building, continuous international partnership development, and aggressive investment promotion. By maintaining the relationships established in France and Germany, the AGS and NEIP aim to provide a permanent pipeline of opportunities for Ghanaian startups, ensuring they remain competitive in an increasingly globalized digital economy.
