Accra is set to become the focal point of service excellence as it hosts the fifth edition of the International Customer Service Summit (ICUSS) on October 2, 2026. Taking place at the La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel, this milestone event marks the official launch of Customer Service Week for both Ghana and the wider African continent. Founded by Priscilla M. Wellington, the summit has established itself as a premier platform for addressing the evolving dynamics of service delivery and organizational performance in an increasingly competitive global market.
This year’s summit centers on the timely theme, "Beyond Technology: Why Culture and Attitude Decide AI ROI." As businesses across Africa rapidly integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation into their operations, the ICUSS aims to provide a critical counter-narrative: that technology alone cannot guarantee a return on investment without a foundational service culture. The event is designed to equip African leaders with actionable insights and strategic frameworks, positioning organizational culture as a sustainable competitive advantage that complements, rather than is replaced by, digital transformation.
Founder Priscilla M. Wellington emphasizes that service must be viewed as a key cultural discipline rather than a mere departmental function for organizations to thrive. By bringing together senior leaders and teams from diverse sectors, the summit facilitates a collaborative environment where attendees can explore how mindset and attitude influence the success of technological deployments. Supported by various industry partners, the initiative underscores the necessity of human-centric values in the era of automation, ensuring that African enterprises remain resilient and customer-focused.
Registration for the 5th International Customer Service Summit is currently open to corporate executives, management teams, and service professionals seeking to refine their organizational strategies. As the opening act for Customer Service Week 2026, the summit serves as a call to action for both the private and public sectors to prioritize service excellence as a primary driver for economic growth. Participants can expect a day of high-level networking and knowledge sharing that promises to reshape the landscape of customer engagement across the continent.
